Well, that embassy bombing... Aren't embassies considered to be on their nation's soil?

Technically, but that would be a pretty silly argument.

To be fair, that's also a pretty silly avatar.

I don't see why you would consider attacks on the UK when trying to figure out how effective American counter-terrorism tactics have been in protecting American interests. The 7/7 attacks certainly matter, but only if you're discussing British counter-terrorism efforts or the overall counter-terrorism efforts of countries involved in the WOT.
we're all in this together. after 9/11 the entire world became americans in terms of being targets of terror.

Why would you say that? A lot of countries were targets of terror before 9/11 (including the U.S.) and a lot of countries still aren't really targets of terror.

all the angolphone allies in the war in terror might as well be americans. either with us or against us. why dont you care about our allies? Id be offended to be an ally of America with attitudes like yours.

It's after 9/11 that we crystalized the belief of us vs. them.

I saw this rant. It was a pretty good one.

O'Reilly has his "talking points" every show (I think, sometimes I don't catch the beginnings). They're never even close to being as well-written as a KO rant. He's also more apt to label something as a huge liberal conspiracy, I think. That's his whole motivation afterall, that there are big liberal conspiracies out there.

Truth is, I think the main reason that we haven't had any attacks since 9/11 in the U.S. is that al-Qaeda just got extremely lucky. They caught us with our pants down. The attacks should have been stopped, had bureaucratic BS not nesured that agencies didn't talk to one another, within their own structures, and if the Administration had been as on top of this as they should have been.

Many of these problems predated the Bush Administration, but the incoming Administration scoffed at the belated attention the Clinton Admin finally started giving the problem, saying Clinton was obsessed with bin Laden. We are now seeing that the Administration was given plenty of warning at the top, and they simply failed to comprehend the seriousness of the threat. "Allright, you've covered your ass," is not what the Pres should say when told that bin Laden is dertermined to attack in America, and the AG deems the threat of hijackings so serious he stops taking commerical flights.

Whatever, another argument for another time. 9/11 was the only strike of any significance that was carried by AQ directly. Given the horror of that day, we over estimated our enemy's capabilities and puffed him up to be something much greater than what it was, a extremely scary, but relatively minor cult that got us with a sucker punch.
