... and now it's back. Apparently the art is big for only one song in the album; the rest have the small image.

Do you want a Tag and Title program? It retrieves tag info from dbfree or amazon, you have it write tags, then copy titles from tags. It uses a file mask that you set up one time and it's done. Titles will be like Artist - Album - Track No. - Track every time. Do a cd at a time.
The kicker is, it retrieves cover art and works with wma.

Yeah, WMP does that itself, but I've been manually replacing the album art (it's just a hidden file in the same folder as the album), to no avail. I'm not exactly sure why some images are large and others aren't, even though the file on disk is large.

Is it possible that the cover art size is controlled somehow from the id3 tag or somesuch?

Anyway, if your bathroom-filled house has a few bucks to spare, http://www.collectorz.com/ has a pretty good music collecting program that nonbuggily displays cover art.

BTW, are you saying "large" as in "file size is large"? Why not open the image up yourself and see what it looks like.

If it were, it ought to be an editable field in WMP... odd.

No, I mean large as in with a large area (correspondingly, the file size is larger).

Does WMP not use the mp3's id3 tag for the image file?

Shiva, if you use Winamp, I know you'd like this program. I'm a title/tag neatness freak.

For me I see both "Large" and "Small" files for CDs, notated by _Large and _Small at the end of the file name.

Yeah. I just replaced 'em with the large file (and renamed it).

                              Maybe that doesn't work?

Which program? I'm a tag neatness freak, too, that's why I use Tag&Rename

One fix Kuci can use is to get the trial version of Tag&Rename (or any other tag editing program), and batch edit the files to embed a custom image.
