I got bored halfway into season 1. I'm just waiting for Rome season 2.

Why is Battlestar Galactica so damn boring? I've been watching some of the episodes they run during the day on SciFi and it's always just Olmos and the two presidential-type people talking in various situations. No action whatsoever...

TV series that run for more than one season don't deserve watching. A story should have a beginning and an ending, anything else is BS. The onle recent TV series that deserves praise is "Band of Brothers". 11 separate episodes, still linked to each other, and no BS. And a definite ending within limited time.
I watched a few episodes of "lost" but stopped when I realised that the crap would go on forever. **** "Dallas"

I can understand that some people don't like the show (though I pity them), but that's a pretty ridiculous reason. Just about every episode has "action" in the form of fights in space or on the ground or somesuch.

I've watched probably 5 or 6 episodes at this point and I've yet to see any fights, in space or on the ground. Didn't even see a non-human imposter/slut Cylon until today, at that was only for a few seconds. I did get to see some election-action today though, solved by a lot of talking between Olmos and the two presidential candidates. Boooring...

Interesting, which episodes would those be? I take the episode list, and action bits as I remember them:
Season 1
33 - lots of action, spacefights
Water - no spacefights, stuff blows up though
Bastille day - a hostage situation
Act of Contrition - a fight in space
You can't go home again - Some space action, which isn't exactly a fight
Litmus - a suicide bombing
Six degrees of separation - not much action
Flesh and bone - a mostly talking episode
Tigh me up, time me down - has a fight sequence
The hand of god - lots of action
Colonial day - some fights (as in fist / bottle fights), political episode though
Kobol's last gleaming I - a little bit of action
KLG II - lots of action
Season 2
Scattered - a pretty big fight
Valley of darkness - the ship boarded, so action
Fragged - action on Kobol
Resistance - action on Caprica
The farm - a bit of action on Caprica
Home, part 1 - action on Kobol
Home, part 2 - some shooting towards the end
Final cut - not much action, only offscreen once
Flight of the phoenix - a big shoot-em-up
Pegasus - rape, murder and a military standoff. If that isn't action, I don't know what is
Resurrection ship 1 - action
Resurrection ship 2 - lots of action
Epiphanies - not action
Black market - little action
Scar - fight sequences
Sacrifice - a hostage situation
Captain's hand - a very big fight
Downloaded - no action
Lay down your burdens 1 - the episode ends with stuff blowing up!
Lay down your burdens 2 - no comment!
Plus, the Cylons are seen in most episodes, so I really don't know what you've been watching.

I watched the ones when the President was dying/recovering from cancer. And then the one today was about a rigged election for president and founding a colony at New Caprica. Don't remember much else as none of the episodes were very memorable...
