I'm quite impressed, kuci. It takes a lot to admit you can't handle a class. A lot of people go to college, assuming they will come in and start out way ahead of everyone else, and then learn that there ARE other smart people out there, and college is actually hard, and burn out because they can't admit they need to tone it down a bit. More than one person I knew at the U of Chicago did (burn out). Or transferred to a totally different major (ie, from hard science to czech studies, in one case
)

That's interesting, that "Real Analysis" isn't a first year class at your school. The "advanced" mathematicians (maybe 60-80 my year?) went straight to "Honors Analysis" at the U of C, as their first full year course.
IIRC they started with proving that 1+1 = 2, and then moved on to proving that 1 + (-1) = 0. I couldn't understand why it took them so long...<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

It is a first year class. I'm a Computer Science major; I already have my calculus requirement.
However, if I go for a math double major (my plans at the moment) I'll need the class anyway.Comment
