Governor Goodhair just had this put into state law.
Gone are the days of selling/buying a used car for 500 dollars. or how much ever, and passing the title. Now, Texans will be taxed on that sale.

The reasoning? The money will go to schools. Right.
The lottery and many other things were said to be ear-marked for that purpose.

Additionally

Texans who purchase new or used vehicles from licensed dealers are not affected by the law.

Why?

If you're a Texas resident, register to vote; then vote for Kinky Friedman.
If you're not a Texas resident, get ready. Precedent is set.
