Are You An Anti-Dentite?

I must confess, I am an Anti-Dentite.

No advance in technology, no educational programs on self-improvement, has been able to change my viewpoint.

Am I alone here, or are there others who I can bond with in this?

JERRY: So you won't believe what happened with Whatley today. It got back to him that I made this little dentist joke and he got all offended. Those people can be so touchy.
KRAMER: Those people, listen to yourself.
JERRY: What?
KRAMER: You think that dentists are so different from me and you? They came to this country just like everybody else, in search of a dream.
JERRY: Kramer, he's just a dentist.
KRAMER: Yeah, and you're an anti-dentite.

JERRY: I am not an anti-dentite!
KRAMER: You're a rabid anti-dentite! Oh, it starts with a few jokes and some slurs. "Hey, denty!" Next thing you know you're saying they should have their own schools.
JERRY: They do have their own schools!
KRAMER: Yeah!....

I love the dentist. There's something so....cleansing about each stab of pain being in the pursuit of perfection.

There's only few thigns I'm deadly scared, snakes.. and dentists.

I guess it was from when I was.. 12 or so.. we had this school dentist and we had to go there of course every year. Well, mostly it was all just a check up so I had no problems.. however.. he had such big fingers and he was a big fat man.. like a serial killer type too.

So once we had to do this operation, and it hurt so freaking bad and I had my mouth full of all this stuff, like 10 different instruments in my mouth jaw about to burst, so I was supposed to lift my arm if the pain comes too bad and they'd stop for a while and let me rest.

But his stomach was all over my hand so I tried to lift it and all I got was his gut. He must have noticed because I was trying to lift it pretty hard but he like whaled a bit over me, because 'it was close to finish'. I mean, I was an horrible pain, in one of those 'panic coming soon' pains and didn't know what to do. Fortunatley I didn't start kicking and screaming and trying ot escape, the thought followed me though.. what if I had started twitching, because he tried to make me steady and I wanted that break... so I had all these needles and pointy things in my mouth, had I had reflects acting up, I guess my mouth would have tored up or something.

So this *******, he totally was horrible. An idiot. Words can't describe. It felt like he hit all my nerves at one time so my ears were ringing and it was horrible.

And I had to go back to that same dentist every time every year. So.. even though he didn't try to kill me the next years, I was deadly afraid and still am, of any dentist. You go when you have to go but... I'm horribly afraid and I have to get some sedatives or something. This is OK with private dentists, you know the real pros, they understand you and they pretty much talk you through it and they know how it can be so they are really nice about it and professional. I just like to know what's going on at all times then and be able to put a stop at any moment. I just want to be in some control, because I don't ever want to experience that same thing.

You don't go into much detail, so it's hard to say for sure.

Definitely anti-dentite,. if that means I'm afraid of dentists, then yes.

But I do appreciate the excellent pro dentists.

I don't like the needle and the sloww drill, but otherwise I don't mind visiting a dentist.

Edit : Oh, there WAS once a root canal that needed to be fixed and gave me an half hour of hellish pain. Somehow he couldn't get the nerve sedated, so it was sedation direct on the tooth - drill a thin layer of - sedate ... repeat until done. Each time he drilled through the sadation pain hit like a sledgehammer. Even the dentist looked tired after that session.
