Computer problems at startup

Lately I've recieved the following error when I start my computer.

File Name Warning

There is a file or folder on your computer called "C:\Program" which could cause certain applications to not function correctly. Renaming it to "C:\Program1" would solve this problem. Would you like to rename it now?

I found a 0kb file called C:\program however, I'm not sure if I should delete it without consulting you guys first. It doesn't have any information listed for it, except that it showed up on 9/20/06. So should I just delete it, and go on my merry way, or does this mean I have spy ware, or is something else wrong with my computer? I have windows defender it says my system is running fine. I'll appreciate any help you can give me.

I would also recommend, as I have recommended a couple of times lately, download this then check your pm box.

You're sure welcome.

If this doesn't get it done, let me know and we'll do something else. You may need to turn off System Restore if it keeps popping back. I don't know much about this particular problem.
