                      We now know you hate golf, and you know that most of us don't think much of hockey. And considering that Golf routinely kicks Hockey's butt when it comes to TV ratings in the US, and that Hockey is the national sport of Canada, and the Canadian Open in Golf is no more than a minor event that nobody goes to... None of this should surprise anybody...

                      So take your hockey back to your hockey threads... this is a golf thread. Be gone troll... you've made your point

                          I think you all are wrong when you talk about Americans not wanting to win the Ryder cup, do you remember 1999? Just making the Ryder cup in America is considered a top honor if not the top honor, just ask Davis Love III. The Americans just didn't play well.

                            Nope, not really. In US golf, it's all about the majors. Grumbling about the time commitment and lack of cash payoff has been swept under the rug as bad PR, but it's still in play.

                            And DL3 is from just about the most traditional golfing family in America. His is far from the common opinion. (Plus, he's burning from not making the team, even as a captain's pick.)

                            These guys only put up with the Ryder Cup because it gets them bigger prestige for sponsorships. It's all about the money.

                            The Euros have taken 5 out of 6 now, and this is the only time they've been the favorites. BTW, flash -- 1999 was 4 Ryders ago, at home, and with a much better squad.

                              No, I'm sorry your wrong the Americans didn't lose because they didn't have the heart or will to win the cup, they wanted it just as much as the Euro if not more. They lost because they got outplayed it had nothing to do how much they wanted it. They didn't hit fairways or make putts end of story.

                              I mentioned the 1999 cup because 4 people who were on that team were on the 2006 team.
