What's wrong with a secular Islam? People can keep the nice bits, and the inspiring bits of their religion, without the strict rules about infidels and so on. I've known muslims who feel they can observe what matters about their religion while having a beer and mixing with the infidel. Good on 'em I say.

Conversion sucks. Chilled out versions of Free Religion is much better.

Naik asserts that all instrumental music is haraam (forbidden), except a one-membraned drum. [4].

What practical problem of humanity is this supposed to solve?

Anyway, this guy is a fundamentalist. Maybe not a violent one, but a fundamentalist nonetheless. He's definitely not a good example of the "moderate Muslim majority".

I'm sure that will work just swimmingly.

              Oh, obviously.

Take a group of people who seem to think that their religions is constantly under attack by... well, everybody, I guess, but Christians and Hindus certainly... and try to covert them to Christianity and Hinduism. BRILLIANT! Why haven't we thought of this before!!

              Right, it's sorted.

Why have I never been invited to these pork-tasting and wife-swapping parties he speaks of? Am I just not "cool" enough? Probably. That, and I don't have a wife...

well it should be easier for India, since its less costly to convert same culture provinces.

Arent muslims pretty much impossible to convert peacefully with just missionary work to other religions, mainly because of their views about apostasy?

To convert a muslim minority to christianity or hinduism in a christian country or india, the muslims would have to be treated for example the same way muslims treat copts in egypt, and I would rather keep the muslims muslim than treat them like dogs unless they abandon islam since that would not be humane.

The only place were muslims have been converted en masse to other religions in Spain after the reconquista, and they had to end up expulsing over 300.000
And also muslim blacks sold as slaves to the new world ended up with heir offspring eventually christian.

by the way is it they would have to be treated or treaten?

That's what I've been trying to get across - that the non-violent mainstream still leans towards fundamentalism .

                            And two other things :

                            a) Who is Ansheem ?
                            b) Is that meant for me or for that fundie ?

For me it´s difficult to define mainstream,
because the mainstream, for example, in islamistic counries seems to be different from the muslim mainstream in western countries.

In european countries for example you won´t see muslim women which wear headscarfs very often.
Most of them seem to be dressed no differently from european women.

Same goes for men having multiple women. As you cannot legally marry more than one woman in most (or all) european countries, you will rarely see a man living together with many women.

IMHO the muslim mainstream in western countries is much more liberal than the mainstream in (or near) islamist countries.
(and the mainstream in fundamentalist countries often tends to be much nearer to muslim fundamentalists than to the muslim mainstream in european countries)
