I've seen one of those beasties watercooled and overclocked to 1550Mhz Mem and 600Mhz on the cores ! My rather rich acquaintance had a dell 30" monitor at 2560 x 1600 and was playing Need for Speed: Most Wanted at native resolution with all the details cranked to maximum.

My life has never been the same since .

There will be a day, when we cannot tell the game from reality... And then ATI/nVidia comes out with a new card. And I ask, why would I wish to buy this? There's no visible improvement...

The day when we won't be able to tell the difference between a game and reality is when we have some mind-machine interface

There will be no need for videocards.

Oh no, we'll still need the GPU to produce that nice scenery that's pumped to our brain.

Unless they can rig our brain to do the work of the GPU.
