What about the Tutsis? The Watusi, as they are sometimes known, were regarded as the tallest people on earth for most of the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries. They were also the subject of a terrible massacre in Rwanda recently, but I doubt they were wiped out.

There are many African tribes where the average height is higher, but as each African country has a number of tribes, with some shorter tribes, the average for the country is less.

For years, the Dutch national air carrier had an agreement with the Tall People's Club to give preference to club members for front seats with extra leg room. The airline scrapped the deal last year because of complaints of discrimination by more normal-sized people, club spokesman Paul van Sprundel said.

Damn heightist airlines. damn them for discminating against people who are physically different and have different needs for a basic level of comfort.

I can just about live with normal sized seats for short flights. The good news is Im not going to get DVT because my knees always jam into the seat in front so I have to keep moving to stop them hurting. Couple that with the headrest supporting my lower neck and not any of my head, it makes it a bit difficult to sleep

I feel sorry for the 6'10'' guy, I bet most of his height is in his legs so literally his bum will be pressed into the back of his seat and his legs open at an odd angle jammed aganist the seat back in front.
