The woman's lawyer says $114m equals the cost of drinks for all those turned away when the company decided to cancel its offer.
Then why should SHE get all the money?

better off sending a buck to everyone that drinks coffee in america...

          What a sleezy shltbag...

Well, in the article it does say that she wants others who have been burned to join her case.

              Sure....that's what she REALLY wants...

Come on...She knows if she's alone she wont get a penny...If was the judge I'd sentence her to 3months in jail...and I'd have the lawyer hanged by the balls in a hail storm.

In order to have something worthwile to talk about: it's amazing how companies keep underestimating the power of the internet. Did Starbucks seriously not realize that the coupons could be forwarded ad infinitum?
It reminds me of a case in which a Belgian sandwich franchise started an online quiz with questions about the company. If you'd get all the question right you could win a coupon for a free sandwich. Naturally the correct answers to the questions were posted on every forum in Belgium, which meant everybody could get a free sandwich without effort, multiple times. Needless to say, the quiz didn't last long.

Do any of you work at Starbucks or any other location that serves boiling hot coffee?

If so, then please spill some on me, I promise to split what I get from the lawsuit. I could use some easy money.

Well, I hope that no one thinks Starbucks was in the right here. Just because the woman won't win her suit, at least it teaches Starbucks a valuable lesson.

                          What "valuable lesson"?

That they can't give something free to their employees and families without every whiner in the US coming in to benefit from it as well?

I think she is right in principle, but the sum is ludicrous...I certainly think that for withdrawing an offer like that should meet with a hefty fine...and they should certainly honour their obligations.
