Lush, by far. Sweetness and Light is one of the best songs ever recorded.
"The French caused the war [Persian Gulf war, 1991]" - Ned
"you people who bash Bush have no appreciation for one of the great presidents in our history." - Ned
"I wish I had gay sex in the boy scouts" - Dissident

My Bloody Valentine were definitely the best of the genre. The crucial tracks are "You made me realise", "Soon" and "Sometimes".

Cocteau Twins were the big early influencers- anything off the "Garlands" album is a key track.

Spacemen 3 were real heavyweights too- try "Take me to the other side".

Of the rest of the bunch, every one of these is a killer track-

        Medicine- "Aruca"
        The Telescopes- "The perfect needle"
        Main- "There is only light"
Kitchens of distinction- "The third time we opened the capsule"
        The House of Love- "Christine"
Ride- "Chelsea girl", "Dreams burn down"
A C Acoustics- "She kills for kicks"
The genesis of the "evil Finn" concept- Evil, evil Finland

Hmph, sounds like Enya with an electric guitar and an engineer who doesn't know how to make the vocals come through.

Just out of interest, what do you use those flaps of skin and gristle attached to the sides of your head for? To stop your hat going over your eyes?

              Spaceman 3

Ah, them were the days (or some of them at least - others included those lived in by Mahler, Duke Ellington, the Beatles, the Buzzcocks and Half Man Half Biscuit - although they (Nigel) still live(s), and I'm going to see them next week. )

Eclectic is just another word for ****.
