How does IR work? If you have a player that is put on IR can you pick up a replacement without dropping the injured player?

And if this is hte case, what happens when the injured player comes back?

You pretty much have it. You can place a player on the IR provided he is listed as being on the IR on Yahoo. This means you can pick up another player and not have to drop the injured guy. You can also keep the injured player on the IR for as long as you want - well past his actual return if that's what you feel is best. However, as soon as you choose to activate him, you will need to drop someone else to make room on your active roster - it needn't be the player you picked up to fill his spot, nor does your pickup have to play the same position as the injured player (provided, of course, that you still meet all the position requirements).

One thing to note, though. Yahoo doesn't exactly mirror the real life IR - at least they didn't last year. I hope they're better with it this year, but we'll have to see.

Yes, they're a little slow sometimes to make the changes.

However, often times it is not them, but the team that is responsible - waiting a long time to officially put someone on IR, and then making it retroactive - which doesn't help fantasy owners.

Looking at the recently release HNIC schedule...

I am SHOCKED. SHOCKED I TELL YOU. For every week but two, the first game is a Toronto game and it's the only one in HD.

At least rotate it a bit, boys...

Actually, there's six times Toronto isn't the first game, and the last week has Edmonton vs. Calgary in HD. Small consolation, I know.

But what did you expect? The NHL actually devises Toronto's schedule to make sure they play every Saturday night so that they can be on HNIC.

I understand that single most viewership is in the GTA.

I also understand that most of the country isn't in the GTA.

Give Toronto a third of the games in HD, and then give the other teams the rest.

... or invest some of those tens of millions so that every game is in HD, and do some split scheduling like in the playoffs so that people in TO get their Leafs and the rest of us can see more of the Sens and Habs.

They claim they purchased a second HD truck, but it won't be ready til around the playoffs.
