Er, I dont know if there was a thread about the Genesis Reunion, but I'll bring it up here. Is anyone going to their shows in Europe this year?

Both the song and the music video with the funny heads are awesome.

Disturbed's remake of the song is OK, but the original pwns.

Very true. In fact, even though I consider myself a Beatles fan and have been massively influenced by them, most of their albums have some bloody awful tracks on them.

Genesis didn't kill him, the radiation from the warp core did.

Unless you mean the fight over genesis killed him.

Well, he got the radiation from the warp core because he was escaping from the genesis device.

One of the songs I lately like to listen the most is Fly On A Windshield. It's such a great song... I like the middle, heavy part the most. It is just amazing.
But Genesis has made so many good songs. I can't compare them to anyone else but King Crimson and Queen perhaps. They have almost no fillers, and even the weakest song has its melody and/or distinct mood.
There are so many great ideas there. I have no idea about music per se, but the way everything changes there, the complexity of the music that does not obscure it (as in Yes, for example), but enriches...
Anyway, the peak of Genesis is for me Selling England to Wind & Wuthering, though I like other albums as well. I'm not a great fan of Foxtrot, I don't know why, because I like its songs.

It's too bad that Gabriel and Hackett will not be joining them. Gabriel's disregard for his Geneis work is disappointing. He said he could not do a reunion until 2009 or something.. So, because Gabriel did not join, the others decided that Hackett could not join the reunion because the space of time that Genesis was a quartet with Hackett was very short. Since the bulk of Genesis material is from the trio, just the trio will be touring.

If all five were able to agree to tour, they would have performed "The Lamb". In a way, maybe it is good that didnt happen.. Watching the Genesis cover band "Musical Box" perform "The Lamb", I dont know how Gabriel, who is now old and pudgy, would be able to pull off the original stageshow as Rael. And, Collins reportedly sat in with Musical Box for an encore at a show in Switzerland a few years back and had major problems playing his old drum parts..

Hopefully, on this current tour, Gabriel and Hackett will be able to make cameo appearances at select venues.. ANd hopefully someone will record those events and put them on the internet.. Otherwise, I might have to fly to Europe this year to catch one of their shows!
