If Mark Hurd goes down, HP will be in trouble, and Dell will laugh its butt off. This could turn into a PR disaster of epic proportions.

HP's stock dropped ~ 4% this morning on talk about Hurd being involved.

I think this now will have the rapt attention of HP investors.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Today, Dunn resigned from the board, effective immediately.

I think there are perhaps still other shoes to drop. We'll have to see how Hurd is implicated.

If HP is engaged in such spying activities vs its own board members, what would it do against its competitors?

Don't worry. Internal corporate politics is a higher priority then competition.

The more interesting question for the moment is

what will happen to Dunn. Just what else did the so called investigators discover about the board members. I just hope Dunn manages to stay clear of any accidents in the next few years. If anything were to happen to her I can only imagine the chaos that would insue.
