  • Madrid/Spain Polymeet, Spring 2007

You know, it's a funny one, but there is talk of the Northern European contingent of Poly descending on our Southern neighbours by way of meeting up in Spain for a Poly meet next Spring (probably Madrid).

As Ecthy is going to be in Caesaraugusta, he is all for this plan, and I'd vote Ecthy....why the hell not?

We will receive you with our arms open wide

It won't be the first time there's a polymeet at Spain. We are a very friendly community here, I personally know several spanish posters.

Also, It is not the first time we receive apolytoners from other countries. i. e, Atahualpa meets Burroman at Granada last year:

At the same time, Wernazuma III came to Seville. I use to live here, a fully polymeet was organized to receive him. It was a sweet night.

From left to right: jm_ruiz, me, Jasev (our beloved mod) and Werna

Problem with spanish Apolytoners (and with Spain in whole) is a cronical lack of fluent english knowledge, reason why the spanish forum seems a ghetto. But most of us read the rest of Apolyton frecuently.
We write and admin. the official civ4 page in Spain:

It can't be worse than the English lack of any foreign language ability, excluding the ability to say "Dos cerveza por favor".

So, if you want to order eight beers, do you ask it four times?

On the meet tho, I quite fancy doing a bit of a road trip to Spain, meeting some of our Belgian and French members along the way.

I'm hoping that by travelling south enough I won't be mistaken for a local, only as a German.

(Yet another story: At the airport on Sunday the security guard was talking to everyone in English, until I got to the front of the queue and he starting speaking in German)
