After writing that, I guess I'm not really saying $550 is such a bad price for what he's giving you. New, $550 gets you a slightly better computer, if you put it together yourself etc.
However, I'd never buy used what I could build new myself... I'd say $450-$500 is the cost of that system, today, new (not knowing that specific motherboard, but i haven't heard good things about the manufacturer). Hence I'd consider asking a discount
