That would be a terrible idea anyway. They wouldn't let the sudden nonexistence of Mecca deter them from Hajj, and given that there are over a billion Muslims, it'd only be a matter of time before the terrorists had giant radioactive monsters to attack our buildings with. Well, actually, tearing down buildings in your own country seems clearly to be about faith and not about power. The reasoning of these Wahhabis is clear and easy to understand: You should worship Allah and not any lesser "idol". This is a matter of faith, not power politics. While the psychology of power enters into the equation, as it does in most human endevors, but is not the primary motivation here.
Not that I am suggesting that a theological dogma based on somebody's interpretation of a couple of 1500 year-old sayings is a valid reason for anything. But regardless, this doctrine is about faith and not power.VANGUARDComment
