  • Baton Rouge

At Yahoo Finance, you get free stock quotes, up-to-date news, portfolio management resources, international market data, social interaction and mortgage rates that help you manage your financial life.

At the other end of the scale, prices rose the most in Baton Rouge, La., reflecting a 27.3 percent increase, followed by Ocala, Fla., where prices rose by 25.3 percent, and the Virginia Beach, Va., area, where prices were up 23.6 percent compared with the spring of 2005.
Yo Dan, remember when I speculated business from New Orleans would migrate to Baton Rouge? Could this be a sympton of it?

Perhaps mardi gras will relocate to Baton Rouge as well.

Well, given that much of NOLA is still uninhabitable and the deluge of refugees that found themselves in BR, it's not unexpected that housing prices would rise. You had a sudden increase in demand without the same increase in supply.

Mardi Gras will stay in NOLA, but look for new Marti Gras in Houston and Baton Rouge. There already is a Mardis Gras in Mobile, AL.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Hmmm. Money.Com rates real estate prices in Baton Rouge as "Fair Value" -- about 11% less than what they should be. LINK
