In Michigan, in Warner Bros. v. Scantlebury, after learning that the defendant had passed away, the RIAA made a motion to stay the case for 60 days in order to allow the family time to "grieve", after which time they want to start taking depositions of the late Mr. Scantlebury's children:

Anyway, RIAA is doing their best to be hated by everyone and so far they have succeeded extremely well.

Maybe someone should put up a website called www.beatthecrapoutofaRIAAemployee.com and there you have the organization pictures and addresses, phone numbers, and when ever you prove you beat the crap out of one RIAA employee, you'll get a hero mention plus donation money.

Then we do this as long as they do the other thing. Meaning we will have to beat them forever.

The choice of tactics is rather dodgy. This isn't likely to be pursuing a cause of action against the Defendant's estate, but "using a technically available tactic to harass and make an example of non-party relatives and thereby gain free publicity and futher notoriety."

It's also a bit expensive if the kids have to retain counsel to prevent themselves from being screwed silly, harassed, verbally abused, or entrapped.
