The colours are probably inverted, and as soon as you turn it to black and white, the original lighting is set and somehow associated with proper colours I have no clue but it's a lot of fun

I didnt know the eye/brain had the ability to invert colours. I would be very interested to know more about it.

well i think it has to do with the fact that the brain has two different areas to process visual information. one is for location and the other is for color and identity.

It doesn't. The neurons in your eye that process the colors in the reversed image get desensitized, so when you see a regular black and white image the opposite color neurons are relatively stronger.
