The basic gist of the service: You bring in DVDs you already own, and for a fee, Circuit City will rip them into a portable format for you. Of course, even though this would fall under fair use even without the charge, this is illegal under the DMCA because of the circumvention of CSS involved in the procedure.
I'm heartened to see that a group with the money to fight back against the scum that insists on rewriting laws to suit their needs every day is finally taking a stand. If Circuit City is serious about this service enough to defend it in court, more power to them.
