Seeing americans as very socially conservative and directly influenced by conservative christianity in all their beliefs and values, from foreign politics to individual reasoning. Hence "teh_evil".
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

I hear you and just want to reply by saying this:

A "Christian" should be just that but often time we are not.. or are we?

A Christian is not perfect, simply forgiven

A Christian should be a witness in all parts of the world, not a dictator

I am allways amazed when people call Christians evil but then often our actions dictate such a response.
I would say you should not be "A Good Christian" on one day.."A Conservative Christian" on another and so forth and so on..either your a Christian or your not....

Yes, unfortunately sometimes someone somewhere in the world rises up, hiding behind God's sillouhette and states they are a Christian and then go and do something reprehensible causing all to jump and thump this person for being a "Bad Christian"

      Madmen have existed since early in time to stand out from the masses and then people fear this person of his/her views and causes, thus fueling this fear and next thing we have a foe or {enemy in the flesh}

I do wish people would be less critical of Christians for Christians as a whole are not"eveil" or "bad", just the sins that come up to fuel certain individuals passions

Im not trying to make this into a "Religious" threadjack, quite the contrary, merely responding as my heart felt led.

I dont like being referred to as a "Religious Man" and no, often time I am guilty of inappropriate humor which dopesnt give the best witness

I think from reading what our government has done in cases is wrong, supplying a certain group with funds/weapons/equipment/training, let them build up strong then instant "bad guy" to fight.

I dont think Communists are all evil, heck get to post alongside some here and they seem somewhat normal or whatever normal seems to be measured by

I know some Muslims whom are wonderful, dear loving people. I dont think all Muslims want to blow up my country or my family

I see many intelligent posters here, and some, which I am also convicted of being guilty as well of, some "Troll" to stir the pot. Calling all people of one belief "Evil" or madmen is pretty narrow thinking

Of course, we have some narrow minded people here

I enjoy posting in OT, although I see many people here (NOTE: I said many, not all, not 90%, but many) bash Christians.

Of course many bash Canadian people, many bash Europeans and many bash Americans.

It is a shame but basically what happens here is what is happening in the minds of a madman or terrorist, they just want to be heard and have the final say on an opinion.

Then our Mods step in (or owners of this site) in much the same way the world steps in to quell distuyrbances when the insults increase and attacks come (sure, here they are words but in real life they are much worse)

Ok, simply sharing we perhaps shouldn't insult or cut people down.

Be well fellow Apolytoners, GAME ON!!!

IIRC, Manuel Noriega of Panama was considered a rational calculating bastard.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

                  Old uncle Troll:

Yes you are correct there is a anti christian sentiment among secular Europeans and probably within America as well, though you would probably know more about that.

Just something like mentioning God in speeches by the president awakes a strong distaste in alot of people. This is a serious gap between the people of USA and Europe.

I don't really think it's ever a good idea to assume your enemies are madmen. It leads to gaps in planning on how to deal with the threat they pose.

I doubt the government really makes that assumption. It's just rhetoric for the gullible masses to lick up so they will follow their leaders blindly into foreign adventures.

True, but assuming your enemies will always act in a completely rational manner also leads to problems.
