  • US hires 1600 Ugandan mercenaries for Iraq

THE number of Ugandans seeking jobs in Iraq continues to soar despite the prospect of working under extremely high temperatures in a country ravaged by insurgency.

I guess if it's OK to outsource the security of US ports to foreigners, it should also be OK to outsource the security of US bases in Iraq to foreigners.

So what exactly is wrong with this - or newsworthy about it?

Is it the fact that they're African that gets your pants in a twist - although you all seem hesitant to openly declare so?

Come on, let's put our heads together here, and figure out what's wrong with this latest Iraq-thing..

In itself, no problem imo. Although a point is made in the article that others are taking advantage of the poor and ignorant, frankly that can happen with anything.

Nothing wrong with it. As the willing grow thin, I guess the billing have to chime in now.

You need to build more Mech. Infantry. Modern Armor is good for offence, but it ain't be all, end all.

Edit: Sorry, was supposed to be in the strategy section...

No wounded Iraqi's left on the field of battle. A use for every piece. Tasty.

I knew any mention of "strategy" in relation to Iraq had to be a mistake...

I sort of guess that already. Unfortunately perhaps, that controversy didn't involve port security to the slightest, it involved port operations.
