We use ours, at a maximum, from May through September. More likely from the tail end of May/early June through mid-September. Most of the use is concentrated from mid-June through the end of August.

Up to four months a year doesn't add up to a third of my life, because most years it's well less.

Also, even during this exceptionally hot summer, my little fan is enough to keep my apartment below the miserable level most of the time.

Finally, Jon is wrong - summer is the least important part of year, as far as having the energy to do anything at home is concerned.

As much as I like to argue, I just can't find it in me to debate the merits of air conditioning units. I concede.

However, at night, when all windows are closed (mosquitoes), and when two comps are running simultaneously, it can get pretty hot.
