  • Apolyton Fan Use Survey

Inspired by the Damn its hot thread...

Fans that circulate air around your room. Fans in computers or to cool other electronic devices do not count. Not a little folded paper fan, but a fan you plug into the wall, with blades.

where's the "I have central AC, and I keep the fans on to help circulate the air to the warmer areas (i.e. upstairs), but I am currently at work where we have AC but the thermostat is downstairs where it is cooler so it is really hot up here and we don't have a fan because we'll blow a circuit if we plug in" option?

Where's the option for "polytubbers complain alot"?
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

That actually isn't an option, it's mandatory.

At home we have central air. Despite having central air conditioning, my bedroom - which is small, upstairs, and tucked into a corner - is the hottest room in the whole house. Whenever I'm in the room, I've got a fan blowing.

Central air and ceiling fans at home, central air at work (with contantly running fans) but not fans with blades on floors, chairs, tables, whathaveyou. It's summer and it's hot outside, but in here it's a little chilly, okay for us gents but cold to the ladies.

I've got some massive "whole house air circulator" fans that sound like jet turbines. Strategically placed and they cool the house down damn fast.

It's a bit hard to justify when you'd use it four months a year, at the maximum.
