Pirates of the Caribbean = Monkey Island

LucasArts develops Monkey Island, Disney apparently builds a Monkey Island ride, then Disney produces a movie called Pirates of the Caribbean, which, if you have played Monkey Island, makes you think you're watching Monkey Island: The Movie


I would have thought LucasArts and Disney would be competitors in some way?

Well anyway, PofC 1 and 2, can get their credit from the Monkey Island story. So if you liked the movie, you can thank Monkey Island for that.

actually, to me, Will Turner is Guybrush: not the pirate, and Sparrow, is Guybrush when he IS a pirate.

She is there in the 1st one, on the ship, she slaps Sparrow, she is definietely Carla.

And in the 2nd one, we meet the fortune teller, in a swamp.

The Disneyworld ride on which the movie was "based" is much older than the Monkey Island games.
