If we'd left sooner, they would have settled their differences. Now, Shi'ite death squads are liquidating Sunnis at a horrific rate. Of course, while only men are targetted by death squads, it's so dangerous for women otherwise that they don't leave home anymore, lest they be kidnapped, raped, and then honor-killed by their own family.

US forces have fought certain Shia militias in the past and are currently engaging the Mahdi Army again. If the Sunni really do buy into the political process and start cracking down on their militias, I would expect to see a greater US push to rein in and ulitimately disband the Shia militias.KH FOR OWNER!
