all i know is this (the entire israel struggle) wont end in a way that is acceptable to anyone in the world, because of the actors involved, their motives, and the innability to fully erradicate both actors and motives that cause issue.

The best I hope for is a self restrained israel and arab states that fight among themselves.

So, when the South Lebanese Hezbollah do something bad, the Northern Lebanese get hit, even though they aren't exactly fans of Hezbollah and if they had the power to, they'd probably get rid of them? That makes... well, no sense at all.

Isreal had control of that land. They left because they were suffering their own Iraq there with guerillas they couldn't totally take out, but who were killing soldiers left and right.

They claim the land. They have done zilch to control Hezbollah.

I'd wait a moment before assuming the Israelis have zero reason to disable an airport in a country from which attacks are now escalating.

The larger issue is the rocket fire from both Gaza and Lebanon on civilian targets in Israel. Crossing the border to capture Israeli soldiers simply supplies the legal pretext for Israel to cross the border themselves. These are acts of war perpetuated by the government of the Palestinians in the first instance and part of the government of Lebanon (as well as a state within a state in the south) in the case of Hezb. Why do you think that any (powerful enough) state would ever put up with attacks on their civilian population by artillery fire? What you are calling over the top I call remarkable restraint.
