It's good tradition that Bavarians call every non-Bavarian a Prussian (or rather a Saupreiss ) and that we call them other names in return .....

Hm....depends....has it any effect on you, like do you sometimes feel the need to wear funny hats, large lederhosen and drink beer as if there was no tomorrow?

Bavarians don't have blood, they have beer in their veins.

Yep, several million of them along with the Germans who used to live in the Czech Republic.

              Nothing wrong with that.

Just the beer thing, but the diabetes curtailed that.

Ok then, if the shoe fits.

Huh, I wonder if Ecthy is from such a family driven from their homeland, and dreaming of reclaiming lost glories.

                  He seems pissed.

That was in response to Speer who has now withdrawn his funny assumptions.

I have no ancestry driven from their homelands.

So your people were always Berliners? Is that the correct term?

The term is OK, but my family only moved here several years ago. My father's side is from the baltic coast (Mecklenburg to be precise), my mother's side from Saxony. Both my parents studied abroad, an honour in socialist days. Ironically enough, they met during their studies in Poland.

My grandma came from Schlesien - Silesia in today's Poland. I was born in Erfurt, so I'm "technically" Thuringian. Just that my family moved to Berlin when I was a little child....
