Diablo 2 video woes

i keep getting the following error:

"error 22: A critical error has occurred while initializing DirectDraw."

the video test tells me that i have no useable video modes.

my driver was last updated in december of 2005, and i am running direct X 9.0


can anyone help me out with this?

what's richer, is that i can't post this on their "open support forums," as i need to be able to actually run diablo first.

See if any other games are throwing the same error -- it could be your card.

upon further investigation, it seems i'm having problems with my direct3d:

"The file nvdisp.drv is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.
DirectDraw test results: All tests were successful.

Try going into the video setup and changing it from directdraw to the other option?

Anyway, you don't need to run Diablo to get to the open support forums. Go to www.battle.net and find the appropriate forum.
