    Problems in Civfanatics.

    Hi there,

    I am trying to enter www.civfanatics.com but when the page is loaded it jumps into another one, errorsafe.com which seems to me to be a tricky site.

    I wonder if you have the same problem as me or If I had special stuff on my computer which redirects me to that web.

                  Of course not . It's a pitty you think like that.

                  I have just discovered I have a piece of spyware in my computer thanks to some good Apolytoners.

                  Error Safe is Malware and I think I am in someway infected.
                  Not found any exe file related to it, but the effects are clear:

                  Any time I want enter Civfanatics I am redirected to Error Safe site.

                    Check your computer for spyware or viruses. Some sites will do that - transfer you to another site (won't even see the site you want to go to). Our entire network at work got hit with a virus or spyware like that (all pages redirected themselves to afternic).


                    Try this:

                    Start->Run and type in command (or cmd)

                    type: ipconfig /flush dns (might be /flushdns)
                    Shut down your PC fully (cold boot - turn it off, then on).
                    That might be a temporary fix.

                      If you never run spyware and malware check, you have to be totally infested. Same for cleaning registry.

                        I often update my Antivirus and I usually check my computer with Ad-Aware, but finally here is some info about this problem:

                        It seems it was one of the banners in CivFanatics

                        Aggressive pop-up ad with ErrorSafe SpyWare
                        http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=176748
                        Today's ad-banner for "Work Home Centre" very aggressively pushes the ErrorSafe Trojan/Spyware. I'm getting it on every forum page that I watch. Every ad spawns fewer than four Pop-up message boxes with their exaggerated nonsense. Upon pressing "cancel", each thread then pushed a signed...
