Huh? If we're talking what MtG just said then one thing should be for sure: if NK was arming up properly without conduct of the PRC, it'd be glass within seconds.

That's also why NK will never go nuclear. WHY on Earth should the PRC stand still?

Maybe, but they're not going to allow them to go nuclear.

NK has a handful of Nukes. They've had a research program for years.

Why else would they want Long range missiles to reach the US? So they can fit warheads on them

You sound so sure. Im convinced!!

Read around on google. They already exist.

Tis true China looks at N.Korea as its skinny, agressive, loud mouth 6th grade brother. I serouisly doubt China gives a **** anymore about NK. They could of helped NK along time ago in terms of economics. But it was always left up to the soviets..

Of course, you Westerners always get confused when you see "Tae".

Actually, for the longest time, Great Leader KIM Il-sung played Beijing off against Moscow in an attempt to exact the best results for his country, while proclaiming self-reliance in the form of Juche at home.

So it wasn't always left up to the Soviets.

I agree. If Beijing had its way, it's influence would've been paramount during the Cold War, not Moscow's.

Indeed, I even remember reading about a small schism between Beijing and Pyongyang when Deng initiated his reforms and Chinese advisors encouraged the DPRK to do the same. Kim seemed like he woulkd have no part of it, however. Oh well...

Deterent so that they essentially become invasion proof no matter what they do. The same reason Iran wants nukes and delivery systems.

And yet there remain two little points which speak against factual nuclear-ness of NK:

                              1. Great powers usually don't want other powers in the region to grow substantially, let alone to go nuclear. I repeat my question from earlier: why would Red China not care?

                              2. There has been no surface testing of a nuclear device, probably no more sophisticated test either.

I can see why they would want nukes, but they haven't acquired them as of yet.
