It's a nice pedia for serious matters (perfect for trivia), and it might be the best source for knowledge on pop culture.

Seriously, Tia, the trivial knowledge is important, but really only a starting point in their decision making.

The REAL test is: What are you like on TV? They want their contestants to be quirky but attractive, and personality plays a huge role. Polish up your smartass-friendly comments! Be ready to engage the host and sidekick in banter. They want GOOD TV, not the best scoring contestants. This knowledge alone should put you ahead of most of the others. If you're good at thinking on your feet and have an engaging personality (that is, if your posting style translates to live conversation), you have a great shot.

My source of knowledge: About 10 (?) years ago, I auditioned to get on Win Ben Stein's Money -- best TV quiz show of all time! But I digress...

This was the drill: First, there was a written knowledge test, used to weed out about 75% of the hopefuls. Then we played a mock game, and THAT'S where the rubber meets the road. (I ended up an alternate, never got on cuz I don't live in LA.)

I wish you much luck and success.

Read up on art. No one knows anything about it, so an art question that should be simple ("What is the name of the painting with the melting clocks?") becomes hard.

(It is The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali.)

Like Jrabbit said, if they ask about another painting by Dali, you need to have a smartass remark ready.

If you're going for movie trivia I'd start by memorizing IMDb.
