An idle thought on a lazy afternoon...
What do you consider to be the highest ideal, the one thing that trumps all others (most of the time if not all the time)? Restrain your desire to be verbose and try to boil it down to a one word response, and try not to post more than 2 or 3 things.
For me, I suppose it's TRUTH (which I'm using synonomously with KNOWLEDGE; if you feel the two are different, I'd like to hear why.) I recognize Truth must sometimes be suppressed for the short term (like keeping Top Secret plans, well, secret) but all should be exposed in the long run. I also feel mankind's greatest goal should be learning everything it can about the universe.
Second would be FREEDOM. Even when it causes instability or inequality, it's better to be free to make the "wrong" choices than be forced to make the "right" ones, because only under those conditions are the "right" choices meaningful.

So what do you consider to be the most important things? Love? Equality? God? Security? Peace? Justice? Mercy?
