  • setting up a business - advices?

Ok. So I boasted for a whole thread how I have a master plan, and I do. The problem is, I don't know much about business. I know we have some succesful people here who have lots of knowledge and I have the utmost respect for your mad ninja skills. Give me few pointers so I can start looking at the right places.

First off, any like simple golden rules? SUch as the Trump rule - surround yourself with the best people? Simple rules of the game like that, that are top priority?

Then, I need more spesific information, and I'm going to let you in what kind of a business it is, so you can give your thoughts and input.

OK, it'll be IT field and consultancy plus possibly education (company employees). It might involve also some research, company spesific.

I need employees, I need at least one gifter programmer (talented!) or two. They need to be good. I need at least one person who can educate and hold class to customers.

Those are the grass roots players I need for the operations, but what about business side? What kind of peopel do I need? The service is expensive, so it will mostly attract major companies hopefully, so I need presentations, I need marketing, I need to get those customers. What kind of people do I need for that? What about pure business operations, what kind of people do I need for that?

To launch the business, how many peo ple would it require, provided that I could start with myself and one programmer, how can I meet the demand of a major customer, how can I expand my operations, I mean I might need a HR specialist or someone who recruits people, but do they know anything about business, such as the optimal number of employees we really need?

Stuff like that. Also, how do I calculate the amount of money I need to start it up really well?

We play with knowledge and information. Our investments at first will be only to employ one or two people (to get it started), and our image. Image is super important. We need excellent persentations, we need excellent image.

    1. Outsource to third world countries such as India and Russia
    2. Hire hot hos for customer service or any customer-facing positions, as even when you give them your crappy Russian or Indian products they won't care
    3. Ban gays and women from buying your products (they are immune to the Ho Effect)
    4. Profit!

Set your salary first, and I don't mean an ignorantly high one. Your goal is making the business thrive and prosper, not being short-sighted.

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Actually my prof is pretty rich too. Trump has screwed up a lot in his career, but then my prof has too, according to him.

I'm willing to bet trump is richer by many orders of magnitude. So calling him an idiot when your prof is way less successful is a bit rich.

Do you go to a community college? And by 'quite rich' do you mean he drives an 80s Buick?

My thoughts exactly, meaning talk against Trump and you are bound to lose when it comes to proving grounds.

However, that doesn't make him messiah, but I just remember he always says it and it makes perfect sense, it's simple but it's also true. Hire good people. Pretty basic.

I don't think my prof ever had to file bankruptcy dispite having a father who owned a huge real estate business. It's not hard to be rich when you're born that way.

If your prof is stuck at teaching at a college, I'd reckon he's come pretty close to bankruptcy. If he was good at what he's doing he wouldn't be teaching people who don't know anything.

Being bankrupt means you at least tried, plus you learned from that bankrupt I'd suppose. Not going bankrupt means there are lessons you have not taken

You have no idea what you're talking about. I don't care to defend him, but he's not stuck teaching college. He's quite a bit involved in the business community. I serously doubt if Trump is anywhere near as smart. In fact, he's never appeared so too me. He show is pretty stupid too.

Can't you get a degree? I think it's better to go to school, work, and then you can find the right people to go into business with.

Can't I get a degree? I AM getting a degree. Just not in business.

So you have no advices then? OK I think it's obvious you don't.
