While many people want to keep their heads buried in the sand about this issue, I thing it's extremely important.

Baseball should test all of it's players routinely... for all illegal performance enhancing substances. Test blood... urine... whatever it takes to get the game as clean as possible. It's going to be a constant struggle to stay ahead of the "arms race" of performance enhancing drugs. There are always going to be chemists out there trying to beat the tests. It's always going to be a game of "point" "counter-point" so to speak. But it's the right thing to do.

When you get a job at most corporations, you have to take a drug test. They test all their employees. They don't just test 10% of their employees at random intervals... They test everyone. Sometimes, quite routinely.

And most people are forgetting the legal aspects of this. These players are breaking the law. They are acquiring illegal substances. In many cases, they are going over international borders to do so... through Latin American connections (Sammy Sosa?)... this is an illegal International drug ring!!! There is no other way to put it. It's about time the feds got involved. A lot of people should be getting pressure put on them... and IMO, a lot of people should be going to jail... not for using illegal drugs... but for purchasing large amounts of them... and trafficking them. Who knows how many players have been the couriers? Who knows how widespread this stuff is?

The "leaded" and "unleaded" coffees are just the tip of the iceberg.

The morons who are keeping their heads in the sand are really missing the big picture here. This is more than just about a juiced up Bonds hitting 70+ homers. But unfortunately, most mouth breathers can't look past their own love of inflated numbers to see what's really going on.

The good news is, I think real change is coming. The bad news is, it took the government getting involved for things to happen.
To us, it is the BEAST.
