"Nobody's more dangerous than a zealot" - my dad, to me.

    Truth.

Smart dad - true wether it's religion or politics.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

        I just have to say:

        WTF

I just can't even begin to comprehend this phenomenon at any level. Too surreal.

WHy doesn't someone organize a group of flaming gays to counter-picket Phelps' group? I wonder if Phelps' people could restrain themselves if they ,et up with the "Julie Newmar Thanks For Everything" group?

You almost have to wonder if this bunch of crazies are actually double-agents, no? I don't think they are, but the thought pops up in the back of my head everytime I see a picture of one of their protests. It's just SO beyond the pale...
            From Wiki:

Some suspect Phelps of being an agent provocateur.:

The group is so outrageous that some among the extreme-right have speculated that Phelps is a plant aimed at giving the anti-gay movement a bad name, said Mark Potok, the director of the intelligence project at the Southern Poverty Law Center which tracks hate crimes.

However, such speculation has come from across the spectrum, not only the political right. Conservative author Keith R. Wood made this suggestion in a column in 2004, and it has been repeated elsewhere since then. It has, however, been contradicted by testimony given by Phelps' estranged children.

Personally I think it'd be less calculated than that; there's a good chance he's simply a con man aimed at raking in piles of lawsuit cash.
            Unbelievable!

Look at the world for the last 2000 years and tell me who you think was in charge: anger-management-challenged Jehovah or his goody-goody kid?

Haha, those people are completely out of their minds.

I don't know if this is a old video but it shows pretty well how ****ed up these people are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G470rfJQCI&search=interview

Those news reporters are funny too. Shouldn't the news be somewhat neutral or objective?

Heh, "The converts are always the worst" - once again my dad. I'm sure he didn't come up with that line, but it's a good tidbit of wisdom.

I generally try to avoid being right there when they're actually smoking. I'm not whiny about it or anything, but there's no need to torture myself for no reason (and hey, it's only been 5 months). My friends understand this, of course. I don't wrinkle my nose and complain that they reek of smoke, if that's what you're thinking about.

It's obvious GOD hates gays. After all, he made Christians, didn't he?
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Nah, gays are a result of the Fall.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?
