Kinda tough on picking one. I went with Religious Freedoms, as I don't want anyone to tell me what to believe, but good luck getting that without Military Interventions...

Seriously, I put religious freedoms, cuz right wing Christians are trying to take my freedom not to practice Christianity away.

Erosion of the Middle Class

My main concern isn't listed It's the erosion of America's middle class, which has been taking place over the past quater of a century, and is only increasing.

For example, the lion's share of tax cuts go to the rich. (E.g. the proposed "death tax" cut will cost the American treasury 50 billion dollars over the next ten years but will benefit only the top 1/2 of 1% of the population.) The middle class does get some tax breaks but that is more than lost back to the government because of varous fee increases. Just take a look at what's been happening to tuition.

While medical costs have been skyrocketing, more and more people are losing their health insurance. Although most people that the majority of bankruptcies are a result of health costs, what they don't know is that the majority of bankruptcies from health costs are of people who had health insurance--just not enough.

Gasoline prices are absorbing wealth from all sectors of society, but the middle class has to drive a lot, and so it hits them hardest.

Raises are becoming more and more scarce, even tho the economy is booming.

Middle-class jobs are being outsourced to China and India.

The total impact of things like these is to drive Americans down and out of the middle class.



But since that wasn't one of the choices, I voted for the environment. Global warming is a long-term problem that will require a long-term solution...and probably won't be solved in my lifetime. But as the ocean level rises and as storms become for frequent and more fierce, will be taking more "hits" like last year's losing of New Orleans.

because only idiots that have nothing to fear from terrorism like people in middle america would vote for it as their major concern. it would have been a troll to end all trolls

Religious freedoms. Everyone should have the right to freedom of concious, and whenever possible freedom to act on it (we should limit things like murder of course (no sacrificing young virgins )).

God gave man freedom of conscious, as such it is imperative that we give others it (and yes, that means freedom to be Muslim, or Atheist, or Wiccan).
