Did you hear the NPR report about militants being suspected of shooting the bodies after they were dead to make it look like the US had did it?

      I guess not.

Lord knows it wouldn't be the first time something like that happened if indeed it did happen. Luckily, unlike some people I qualify my statements and don't believe either side until a real investigation is completed. You should try that some time.

The thing is, even if they followed procedures and/or orders when they believed they were confronted by enemies, does it mean they did no wrong?

It means it most certainly was not a war crime which is what our resident idiot has been attempting to claim inbetween his sessions of misunderstanding the topic of the thread.

Sure, it sucks that militants use women and children as human shields and the situation should always be reviewed to see if some sort of change in policy would provide consistantly better results but at the end of the day it was the other guys who opened fire from a house full of his family. That's who must bare the brunt of the blame.

Nice rationalization there, Oerdick. Great disinformation op, claiming that the "militants" shot the bodies after they were dead. Did you learn that in your psy war training?

Trouble is, there's more dead than the US army claimed. And then there's the problem of the house still standing when the video was taken. Looks like you shot first and asked questions later... just like your buddies in Iraq.

What does GI mean again? I first thought this thread was about mexican food in Iraq.

Ummm.... these bullets, if fired directly at a body from close range, don't usually end up inside the bodies, do they?
More likely, you'd find bodies with holes in them while the actual bullets ended up in nearby walls and ceilings, etc.

Due to the rotation of the shell, you'd find a hole the size of your hand upon exit. A shoulder shot could conceivably tear the arm off.

How many witnesses were there? I seem to recall hearing of a 12 year girl survivor whose recollection was merely seeing a gun barrel through the door. No faces no direct observation of the murderers.

I could be wrong though AS THE INVESTIGATION IS NOT COMPLETE.

This is the same Pentagon that investigated the massacre at Haditha and twice before exhonerated the Marines? This is the same Pentagon that said that no higher officers were involved in the torture at Abu Graib despite a paper trail from the President on down?

                          Yeah, right. I believe them.

The Iraqi government today called the Pentagon report BS.
