Bigelow has confirmed that the module was successfully deployed!
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

"A successful launch has occurred at 7.53am Pacific time," said Robert Bigelow in a statement. "At approximately 3pm we will start to acquire information from the spacecraft as to its health."

          Deuce Bigelow, Space Gigolo?
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

No video or pics yet. But here's the latest...

Bigelow Aerospace has received confirmation from the Genesis I spacecraft that it has successfully expanded.

We have also confirmed that all of the solar arrays have been deployed.

Bigelow Aerospace mission control has begun to acquire information from the Genesis I spacecraft. The ISC Kosmotras Dnepr rocket has flawlessly delivered the Genesis I into the target orbit of 550km altitude at 64 degrees inclination. The internal battery is reporting a full charge of 26 volts, which leads us to believe that the solar arrays have deployed.

The internal temperature of the spacecraft is reported to be 26 degrees Celsius and we have acquired the spacecraft's Global Positioning System (GPS) signal that will enable us to track the ship in flight.

We have initiated communication with the ship's onboard computers and expect to download more information over the next few hours.

              - Robert T. Bigelow

Nada. The company isn't publicly-traded. Maybe it will never be, considering that Robert Bigelow has ample fundage from his own fortune.

Yeah I just researched it. Good thing probably, but I want to own a slice.

Hmmmm, anything in the building materials besides Kevlar that is unique to the modules?

I think it's mostly Vectran. Probably some weaves of other fabrics, like the Kevlar that you mention.

VECTRANâ„¢ has the following additional characteristics:

Ok.... is Kuraray stock public? I can barely find any info on it. Looks like the price has moved in the past year from 8 to 11 per share, but scarcely nothing else.

Looks like it's traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. I don't know much about it.

There's not much of an investment angle on Bigelow yet, I'm afraid.

I like how the trading unit is 500 shares. $5500 just to buy. Not for your casual investor really. Then again its a huge company.

I think eventually things will get moving. It will be a lot like the long, long wait for "radiophones" that when it eventually happened, happened. private space travel seems like it is on the cusp. And I say this as someone who laughed at it for the longest time.

Now string theory and tokomak research. That is butt stupid.
