Anyway, apparently Noam Chomsky agrees with me
I would consider this to be an indictment rather than support for a theory I held.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Who the hell considers Chomsky to be America's leading thinker? His work in linguistics is praise-worthy, but that's about all he's got going for him.

Ahhh...so what? We are finished as a nation? Well....

              Let's throw a party then!

A little revolution every now and then is a good thing.
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

Perhaps this is all a cross-atlantic linguistic mix-up and Mobius SAID "thinker" when he meant the Brtishism "****er" instead?

Jesus, if Chomsky was America's leading thinker, THEN America would be finished.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.â€

I think America was done when it got into that stupid war on the Barbary Coast. What terrible warmongers to invade the land of such peace loving people!?

I mean, good lord, what good HAS it done since? It will surely be finished by 1840, at the least.

Every empire will crumble upon its own weight...

We are witnessing the Fall of America... How far it will fall, we don't know...

and the Rise of Asia... How high it will reach, we don't know...

History is also cyclical. Don't count us out yet.

A vast majority of the continent has a long way to go before it reaches even the 20th century. Of course, how does one measure cultural superiority anyway?

Vince, it is technology that changes us.

It took America 100 years to reach its height.

Westerners have cutting edge technology and cutting edge culture. Asians have cutting edge technology, but lack cutting edge culture. But then again, it may not need cutting edge culture to reach superiority.
