  • OT Census

I've sometimes wondered just how big the OT community really is. In my head, I have a figure of 2-300 people dropping by and posting with various degrees of regularity, but any concise tallying of the good people of this place remains elusive.

What's your estimate of the size of this thing, counting only regular posters (whatever qualifies for that; suggestions welcome)?

I say 275, based mainly on having been pulled from a most private anatomical area, and a strange feeling that the number may be closer to 300 than 200.

Can we establish a set of universally accepted criteria for being a regular OT'er, do you think, and based on that, proceed to prove my number of 275 wrong?

What the heck, it's the weekend, I'll throw in a poll.

Should be possible to find out for our admins. I think Winston's been pulling too much out of his ass lately.

275 seems awfully high. I would guess around 70 or so...

        I'd say between 100-150.

well, what do you consider to be a regular poster?

some people come and go... some reputable posters might not post very often, but yet, are still pillars of the community
To us, it is the BEAST.

Well, it's not necessarily restricted to people who bother to actually read the OP..

civman2000, if you're correct, this means that, already, more than 7% of the entire community has posted to this thread.

Some month ago I posted a poll about the ages of people frequenting OT...
If I remember right, around 125 people voted!

I think we can affirm; around 150 people are frequenting OT!

                Here the thread:

I bumped the thread... I think, the thread(the age thread) is a good way to measure how many people are frequenting OT.

Not really... some people don't vote in age poles, and the original thread was only up for a few days. Many regular posters filter in and out. 250 is probably closer to reality.

Hmmmm, Ming, how 'bout you restrict everyone, then count the total of PM's you get...that should tell us the number we're looking for.

What?! Ok, it's going to cost a little of you're spare responding and such but c'mon, be a sport, will ya.

whats the average posts per day per poster in the OT? i think youd be considered a regular if you were above that.

Nah, if he did that some of us would be counted twelve times or more.
