I haven't got a job yet. I'll know about testing for Fresno County on the 9th. I've been studying governmental accounting, but I don't have a really good source. They don't offer that as a course at my college. That's probably ok, because no one else has probably taken it either.

Does anyone know of any good material to study, or anything else that would help? Oh, the county next to mine is hiring also.

The pay is good, but the hours are long and you have to pass the CPA exam in like a year or something. They pay for training. So you train in addition to working.

It's a good start for someone, but not for me because it would be too hard to do it and take care of my son. I would never have time for him. We would have to move on top of that.

edit: oh, yes they are hiring a lot.

That's why I hope to get this job with the county, because most people want to make the big bucks and are just 22 or something eager to work in public accounting.

Plus I have military experience, so I think I have a decent shot.
