  • Just when I thought she couldn't sink much lower...

So yeah stepmonster has been selling Dad's stuff on e-bay now as I've been checking the site she's sunk to new depths. She is now selling my children's baby dolls that they got one Christmas and have played with over the last 20 years. They saw that and flipped. They loved their Strawberry Shortcake doll.

This past week I was bidding to get my fathers camera that he took all of our family pictures on and some schmoe came at the last minute and out bid me. Today when I checked the site she has now put up my children's china, my mothers china bowl with roses and other things of my moms that I won't mention. So now I'm reduced to writing pleading emails to these people begging to purchase my family heirlooms back and the thing that sucks is I have to wait until tomorrow cause apparently you can't send e-bay members e-mail until you've been a registered member for 3 days.

The guy that bought the military stuff buys this type of stuff all the time so the chances that he hasn't turned it over since he bought it 3 weeks ago probably are pretty slim. And Steve and I have to go up there next week to pick up what furniture and remnants that she's so graciously going to allow us to have. I'm not sure I can be civil and my daughters don't want to see her. I have to keep cool though or she might not give me anything else and she's going to move in mid june so now is the time to get it. Don't really know how to feel about my family stuff being sold.

Sounds like a lot of the stuff isn't even hers to sell, such as your children's dolls.

That's what I think and the stuff of my mom's. My mother passed away in 1979. I guess she feels like it's her's since he's gone.

It is hers. It sucks you have such a bad relationship with her that she won't even give you first crack at the stuff but if your dad married the wicked witch of the west then you should blame him. I suspect there is some bad blood between you two and that is why she obviously doesn't care about how you feel.

Now if you stored your stuff there and she's selling it then you have no one to blame but yourself. Act like an adult and store your own stuff or stop complaining. If she's ever asked you to come get it and you haven't, for what ever reason, then after 30 days she can legally toss it into the street or sell it.

We had a good relationship I tought. And after dad died I went through things and tagged them. We found alot of these things and I asked if I could have them and she said she wasn't through looking at them and would give them to me when she was done. Instead she's selling them. I know it isn't about the money cause that was never an issue in my family.

And this isn't stuff I stored there either. These are things that were my mothers that my dad kept and things that my father kept from when he was in college and after.

And just out of curiousity, exactly how would you feel if your dead mother and father's things were being sold on e-bay? If the camera that countless smiles of your mother and family had been taken with was sold? You don't think you might be just a bit upset, or should sentimental things hold no value.

Unless your dad willed it to you then it is community property and 100% of it goes to his wife not his kids. That's why second marriages suck so much but that's life.

If she's a **** then your dad had bad judgement in women but there isn't much that can be done about it now.

If this isn't about the money, and if you used to have a fairly good relationship with your stepmother, I guess your father's death really upset her, threw her off balance.

I'd imagine she really wants to get rid of all those items that remind her of so much death. You should try to contact her (phone her maybe), so that you can take those items to your own home, and get her rid of those things she wants to get rid of.

That's obviously not the case if Tiamat's story is correct. Tiamat claimed she told her step mother she wanted things of her parents and now the step mother is selling them.

There is something else going on here. How did Tiamat learn about this stuff being sold on e-bay? Someone had to tell her. I'm confident there is a whole half of the story not being told.

If Tia's stuff is stored there, and there was previous knowledge of said storage, isn't it HER stuff?

Bottom-line, this is how Tia perceives the situation, and her feelings about it.
No one can say she's wrong in that regard. They're HER feelings.

It wouldn't be the first time that a wife freaks out and behaves irrationally after becoming a widow. Since there doesn't seem to be a rational motivation behind those sales, it must come from the emotiondom. And after a death, emotions can become quite wild.
