  • How Did You Find Love?

For awhile I've felt nihilistic towards romance. I looked down on breeders, particularly whenever caught in heavy traffic. The drive to reproduce was nature's snare to ensure our mindless servitude to her purposes. I resisted and enjoyed an ascetic's sense of self-righteousness. I didn't have to resist very hard though, for I was genuinely satisfied with the cruise control of single life.

That all changed when I developed a crush on an unattainable woman. I'm not talking Mount Everest unttainable, I'm talking Olympus Mons unattainable - I'm not even on the same planet...

After rising a lofty peak of elation, and descending into a trough of depression, I've been left to flounder in the wake of reassessment.

I've made peace with my hypocrisy. Overpopulation and gridlock traffic now seem far lesser evils than the whip mother nature is bearing upon my arse.

So here I am, aged 33, and faced with the quest to find a mate. If the ascent of Mons pubis is anything like the ascent of Everest, then maybe I stand a chance.

I'm not really after advice or anything, but I am interested to learn how others here found their significant other. Inspiration is what I need.

I think I better emphasise that I'm not a virgin. I sowed my wild oats in my youth. Sex is as easy as going to the local backpacker's hostel on a Friday night and finding a willing slapper.

          I'm talking about THE ONE.

We talked endlessly with each other, shared personal stories, shared secrets. Then I had to push a bit, and I found her.

                      Only lasted 2.5 years however

Well I never found it. It's a whole side to my existence that has proven to be too awkward and I've not bothered...
