Today is the day that I heard (by eavesdropping), that she has not given up the demands for my father. In fact, she wants 70k, with his new ****ing wonder man, my old man is retired, they are both working in the US, my man is here, trying to figure what the hell when the ****ing ***** divorce lawyer of hers attacked him like a pitbull. You know, get out of our lives. Don't call, don't do anything.
But, she is also comign to Finland for a visit, so I was like sure we should meet, but she did NOT tell me about this at all. She knows, I said to her if she keeps the demands up, I'll basically never see her again. She never did that, and now she plays the sneaky one who doesn't have to tell.
She even tried a trick on me, to give out if my dad has been working on the side (being retired). You know, if the demand goes trhoguh, my dad as to sell the house he built himself and never had any debt on and move where? WHAT THE ****!??!?! He's alone, what's he gonna do?
**** you moms, **** you.
You should meet with her. Tell her you know that divorces are often bitter. But remind her that when she f****s over her ex-, she's also f***ing over your father. Ask her why she thinks you would ever have any kind of friendly relationship with someone who does that to your dad?
My wife and I went to an Irish pub, had lunch, and a pint of O'Hara's Irish Red.

Im not a Corporation. I never honored her on this date because it was a promotional/marketing/fiscally thrifty thing to do(even when we were at odds when I was growing up) , I did because she gave birth and raised me.
I did it to honor her for what she did.
But I do see your point. Too much commercialism. Too much "If you really love her, buy her a Diamond Pendant she will cherish forever or whatever."
I sarted this thread with the exact opposite in mind and that was to honor those who were truly Mothers.
I am sorry that many have had bad experiences with their maternal figure.
I finally did something for Mother's Day. I took my mom out to see a production of Brecht's "The Good Person of Sichuan/Szechuan/Szechwan". It was really well done for such a low ticket price. $6!

Wendover? Surely you are joking. I'm assuming you are visiting your in laws in Utah? As Wendover is a long way from Texas.
Actually someone at my company (don't want to be any more specific for fear you guys will figure out where I work ), used to work there. She said it wasn't as small as I believed. Still seems like a ****hole to me though.
