accounting and financial planning are two possible careers im considering when i return to school in the fall. i quite enjoy doing things like this, and really appreciate the help.

Hey no problem, I like using my tax knowledge to help people.
Accounting can be a very worthwhile career. Accountants are needed by everyone and usually garner a decent salary, enough for a comfortable living. Accounting jobs can also be very stable. The career is not too exciting, but then again even movie studios, themeparks, and NASA needs accountants.Comment

I really enjoy doing this type of stuff though, and would really enjoy a stable and comfortable career. i dont aspire to make millions, 50-60k a year is just fine

When I was in a divorce situation I gave (UK) Inland Revenue everything they asked of me. This was way more than I owed them: it's the way they operate. But the thing is that by paying the money to the government, it meant that I could legally not include it in the divorce settlement. And I eventually got the overpayment back, with interest even. God Save the Queen.
