I can't wait until news "heavyweight" Katie Couric takes over the helm at CBS and does what she does best - lobbing softball questions to Hillary Clinton.

Nice overt PR going there with the "criticisms."

This is a total move to keep his base, the wacko Reactionaries.

"So Tony, is the Medicare prescription drug program an example of a program that rips-off taxpayers and misleads supposed beneficiaries?"
He should handle it by ignoring the question and going to the next non-jackass (i.e. not Helen Thomas). I hope the WH Press Corps is above scoring cheap points.

Fox ever pretended they're not pro-Republican?
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

I have a couple of Republican friends who still believe that Fox News is excellent in that it's not biased.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

The stock Republican response to allegations of Fox's bias is that it merely balances out the liberal-leaning media. Of course, if you examine that closely, it's an admission that Fox is biased as hell.

Are the others? Yeah, they are, to varying degrees. But Fox has taken it to a new level.

When's the last time Fox ran a hit piece on a sitting President that ended up being based on forged documents? Fox is biased as hell, but its liberal counterparts are just as bad...

There are reporters and there are reporters with an axe to grind. At this point Helen Thomas should be writing editorials, not pretending she's an objective reporter. Do you see Krauthammer/Applebaum/et. al in press briefings? I don't think so....

Helen Thomas is an editorial writer, she switched from reporter to columnist in 2000 when she left UPI and was hired by Hearst.

Apparently, she retains her White House press pass for "historical" reasons; but because she's no longer a reporter, she gets called on only once a year or so.
